Meet our Staff

Mrs Limei Bian
Ni hao! I am the Mandarin teacher. Students call me Limei lao shi or Bian lao shi, which is equivalent to Mrs Limei or Mrs Bian. I started the Mandarin program at POPS in 2012 and have been teaching for over 20 years. Apart from teaching, I helped to establish the sister school partnership with Jinling Primary School in Nanjing in 2014. I also assisted with the organisation of China trips in 2014, 2016 and 2018.
I am passionate about sharing Chinese language and culture with students and creating engaging learning experiences that inspire curiosity, confidence, and global understanding. I believe language learning helps students connect with people and cultures in meaningful ways and encourages them to become lifelong learners.
I have a genuine interest in students’ learning and wellbeing, and strive to create a positive, supportive, and engaging classroom environment where every student feels valued and encouraged to succeed.
Outside the classroom, I am a proud mum of four children. I enjoy reading, listening to music, spending time in nature and staying active at the gym. These interests help me maintain a balanced and energetic lifestyle, which I bring into teaching practice each day.
Mrs Debono
Hi, I am Mrs Debono. I am the Mental Health and Wellbeing Leader at POPS. Before stepping into this role, I spent many years teaching in the classroom, particularly in Years 5 and 6, which are still my favourite year levels to teach. I have been a teacher for 30 years and have been part of the POPS community since 2011.
I strongly believe that student wellbeing is the foundation for success in learning, and I am passionate about helping children feel safe, connected, valued and heard. Building strong relationships with students and families is one of the most rewarding parts of my role, and I love helping students grow in confidence, resilience and happiness.
Outside of school, I live in beautiful Shoreham with my husband Michael and our very entertaining dog, Gilly, who loves the beach almost as much as I do! I enjoy walking along the beach, listening to music, making sourdough bread and exploring photography. I can play the saxophone and still enjoy playing the piano when I can. It is for my ears only. 😊
I feel incredibly fortunate to work in such a caring and supportive school community and to continue doing work that I genuinely love every day.
