Summer Interschool Sports

During Term 1, Greenvale Primary School participated in the Greenvale District Summer Interschool Sports competition. This was held with 3 different sports across the term. Select Year 5/6 students were selected to be a part of the Basketball, Tee ball or Volleyball teams. A Boys and Girls team were selected to come up against different schools in the Greenvale area.

During the season, Greenvale Primary competed against 3 other schools in the group stage, if they qualified from that they would compete in the finals!

Greenvale Primary School is immensely proud of our students' efforts and how they upheld the school's values during competition. See below how they all went! 

Basketball

The Boys basketball team went through the group stage undefeated! Showing amazing teamwork and skill during the matches. In the final they came up against St Carlo P.S, a tough opponent who also went undefeated. In an intense final, Greenvale overcame St Carlo Borromeo Catholic Primary School with a 35-19 scoreline, the boys now qualify for the Woodlands Division Finals!

Our Greenvale Girls basketball team went through the group stage undefeated. Their defense and communication are a key part of making it to the final. They also came up against St Carlo Borromeo Catholic Primary School in the finals. In another intense and close encounter, the girls unfortunately lost, finishing 2nd overall. A massive achievement and the girls can hold their head up high! 

Tee ball

Our Boys Tee ball team showed amazing resilience and teamwork to finish the group stage undefeated and qualify for the grand final. Where they came up against St Carlo Borromeo Catholic Primary School, in a game that had multiple lead changes and some amazing hits and catches. Greenvale Boys came out on top! Winning 16-14 to qualify for the Woodlands Division Finals.

The Girls Tee ball team, through teamwork and communication was able to make it through the group stage undefeated, qualifying for the finals. They also came up against St Carlo Borromeo Catholic Primary School, the game that had fantastic teamwork and a close scoreline. Greenvale P.S came up on top! winning 19-17. Qualifying for the Woodlands Division Finals.

Volleyball

The Boys' Volleyball team were able to qualify for the District Finals by going through the matches undefeated. They came up against St Carlo Borromeo Catholic Primary School dominating the match and finishing the game 2 (50) to 0 (36). An amazing effort, the boys showed great teamwork and sportsmanship throughout. 

Our Girls Volleyball team finished the group stage with a 2-1 record. Unfortunately, we were unable to qualify for the Finals. We are so proud of how the girls competed in the group matches. Congratulations on an amazing season.
