Message from our Principal

Dear Silverton families, 

Welcome back to everyone for the beginning of Term Two. 

I wanted to start by congratulating our Year 6 students and staff for a fantastic camp in the final week of Term One. A big thanks to the staff who took time away from their own families to go along to camp. 

Thank you to all of the students who dressed up for the Easter Parade on the final day of the Term. Although I was away at camp, I saw some great photos of the parade! Thank you also to our parent volunteers who helped with the Easter Raffle and to everyone who contributed to help make it a special day. 

The building project has now moved onto the final building which should be completed within the next two weeks. Thank you to our Team Kids staff and students for their flexibility while the Activities Room is being worked on. I have included a progress update from our builders for you to see. 

Today was our whole school Cross Country Day which was fantastic. So glad the weather has been kind to us! Congratulations to all students for their efforts. Thank you to staff for their help, in particular Mrs Kittle and Mr Peterson. Also, a big thank you to our volunteers for running the BBQ lunch. 

This afternoon we are holding our STEM afternoon for our 2027 Foundation students. Thank you to the staff who are running the session this afternoon. It’s always lovely to see our future Foundation students and to welcome some new families to Silverton. 

A reminder that on Friday 8th May we will be having our Mother’s Day stall and our breakfast. This year it’s bacon and/or egg rolls! A big thanks in advance to our parent/carer volunteers who are coming along to help with the day.

A few reminders:

• Please ensure that your child(ren) are in full school uniform. If you have any questions about uniform or require any assistance, please don’t hesitate to contact me. 
• Arrival time: For safety reasons, students should not arrive at school before 8:45am. This is when staff begin before school yard duty. If you need your child to be supervised earlier than 8:45am, we have an Oshcare service which runs everyday from 7:00am – 8:45am. Please enquire if you require this service. 
• Pick up time: School finishes at 3:15pm every day. If you require your child to be supervised later than that, please also enquire with our Oschare program.
• Please DO NOT park in the disabled carpark unless you are permitted to do so. 
• Please obey all street parking signs in neighboring streets to avoid being fined and do not perform U-turns outside the school gates.
