Ever wondered what happens in your child’s classroom after the 9am bell? 🤔 Now’s your chance to see it in action!
Join us next Wednesday 20th May, 9:00–11:30am and experience a typical morning at Team Westbreen. You’re invited to observe your child (or children) in their classroom, visit other learning spaces, and finish with a relaxed morning tea outside (weather permitting).
Our doors are also open to the wider community and 2027 families—please help us spread the word. We’d love to see you there 😀
Do you have a child that will be starting school at Team Westbreen next year?
Enrolments for 2027 are now open and enrolments forms are available from the school office or by emailing Miss Kerry at kerry.parfett@education.vic.gov.au
If you have any queries regarding enrolling your child please don't hesitate to contact Miss Kerry via the above email, by calling on 03 9306 9481, or just chat to her if you see her in the yard.
Get ready for a Family Time adventure! This week we’ll be working together on a school-wide scavenger hunt with three different challenge modes…
🟢 Easy Mode – perfect for younger children and families wanting a relaxed challenge!
🟡 Hard Mode – for our serious clue solvers! Hidden around the school will be special stars with mystery letters… find them all and see what it spells out!
🔴BOSS LEVEL MODE - for the scavenger superstars, find all the letters in random order and challenge yourself to see if you can unscramble the secret saying 👀⭐
So, join us on THURSDAY to explore the school with your family and work together to crack the final code!
LOCATION: under the blue sails at 3:15pm until 4:15pm for an afternoon of teamwork, laughs and adventure. Unless advised otherwise on the speaker.
If the weather surprises us and is too wet/cold we will meet in the specialist building for some crafty mystery fun! Friendly reminder: children must be accompanied and supervised by an adult during Family Time.
From your Family Time Team!
Enjoy these lovely snapshots from last week's Mother's Day themed family time and we hope you all enjoyed your crafty gifts!

A big thank you to Rhoda Khaled, mum of Ahmed, Tannah & Amira, for taking on the role of coordinating Westbreen’s Community Playgroup for 2026. Thank you to our families that have attended our first two sessions. It's wonderful to see families connecting and enjoying the space together.
Westbreen’s Playgroup will now be held every Tuesday from 9am to 10:30am in our school hall. All visitors are required to sign in via the school office before making their way to playgroup.
You do not need to be an existing member of the Westbreen community to attend — our playgroup is open to all families with children aged 0–5 years.
If you, your family members, neighbours or friends are interested in joining us, please contact our Playgroup Coordinator, Rhoda Khaled via the below QR code or email.

The Westbreen community want to take this opportunity to thank Ms Zoe very much for doing such a wonderful job coordinating the Breakfast Club over the past 12 months, supplying rumbling tummies with delicious food to start their days 😊 Unfortunately she is having to step away from this role due to other work commitments. As a result of this we are looking for a member of our community who might be willing to take on this role. If you have a child at school that likes to come to Breakfast Club then it may be an opportunity to share some of their school journey with them, we all know how much children love to have their parent spend time at their school.
The days could be negotiated to suit you, however the hours are approximately 7.45-9.00am, 3 days per week. Duties include setting up, preparing the staple foods eg toast, cereals, flavoured milk etc and then other times a special of the day may include pancakes, crumpets, avo toast, sausages on toast, cheese toasties or whatever you like depending on how creative you want to get! 😊 I am happy to do the ordering of food through the organisations that are on board and Ms Bridget is happy to do the ordering of any extra items. I can also take over the admin tasks to make it easier as well, and of course our superstar ES ladies will be there to support you in the mornings and helping feed the hungry mob!
If this is something that you might be interested in or you have some further questions, please reach out. It would be great if we can get someone on board asap. If there is someone you can think of that you could share the role with then we are also open to unpacking that further.
A Working With Children Check would be required to perform this role.
I hope to hear from you soon
Ms Georgie
