If you would enjoy an extra walk, meet outside Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church at 9am otherwise meet at the entrance to Dunningham Park at 9:30am. Don’t forget your towel and walking shoes and remember to pray for no rain!
Last Sunday, our very first millennial Saint was canonised in Rome - St Carlo Acutis. Carlo died at the age of 15 in 2006 of leukemia, and although his life was short, he was devoted to Eucharistic Adoration and serving the poor and homeless. Using his gift of technology, he created a website to record all the Eucharistic miracles of the world. His parents Andrea and Antonia together with his twin siblings Michele and Francesca (born four years after his death) were in attendance at the canonisation yesterday. His Feast day will be 12 October each year and he will be known as the Patron Saint of Technology, the Internet and Gamers. Over the last few weeks, the students have been involved in ‘The Sneaker Project’, ask them to tell you what they have learnt about this remarkable individual.
Thank you to all the families who have volunteered to complete a card and provide chocolates for the 2025 HSC Graduation Prayer packs for the class at Brigidine. These will be delivered to Brigidine at the end of this week and I’m sure will add a smile to individuals who receive them as they prepare to embark on their final exams after 13 years of schooling.
Spring has Sprung at Playgroup! This week we talked about R U OK? Day and how we should check in with others. The boys also made an R U OK? Day affirmations chatterbox. We also read some stories about gardens, fruit and vegetables before spending some time in the prayer garden to plant some flowers.
Week 10 this term, Sydney Catholic Schools will host a half day Marian Retreat for Parents and Carers at St Joseph’s Rosebery. The cost is $10 payable on the day and includes morning tea, lunch and making your very own set of Rosary beads followed by learning how to pray the Rosary. It will start at 9:30am, so there is enough time to drop the children to school and will finish by 2pm in time for school pick up. I will be going and if you would like to join me, please register by scanning the QR code in the flyer below. Any questions, feel free to email me at lucille.gravina@syd.catholic.edu.au.
Go gently, every blessing
