Term 3 Week 4
Hi Everyone,
Confirmation
Over the past four weeks 67 of our students have been preparing to receive the sacrament of Confirmation this year. This is a significant milestone in their faith journey. Next week will be a big week for Year 6 students and the Confirmation candidates. On Friday 22nd August they will participate in a retreat at school, where Bishop Peter Murphy will speak with our students and they will display products in the Auditorium from their 'Saints' research project for the whole school community to view.
Bishop Peter Murphy will be here to confirm the candidates, at two masses, on the weekend of 23rd/24th August. Please keep these young people and their families in your prayers as they prepare to be sealed with the gift of the Holy Spirit. We look forward to celebrating this special day with them and our wider parish community.
Mathematic Information Night
On Tuesday 26th August we will be holding a Mathematics Information Night. This night has been designed by Helen Rowsell, our Mathematics Expert Teacher and class teachers from Infants and Primary.
The night has been designed to assist parents explore how students learn in Mathematics. Content delivered by teachers has been targeted to individual stages and focusses on centering around core number operations specific to each grade. We would love to see as many parents as possible to learn and discuss all things 'Maths'.
Book Week
Please join us in celebrating Children's Book Week from August 16–23. This year marks a special milestone—the 80th anniversary of the Children's Book Council of Australia and a fantastic legacy of connecting children with the magic of stories. More information about Book Week at St Nicholas School can be found in the Library section of this newsletter.
Please note that our annual Book Parade has been moved to Thursday, August 21, and will begin at 2:15 pm in the Holy Family Courtyard. All parents, carers, and friends are warmly invited to attend.
For the safety of our students, please remember to sign in at the front gate upon your arrival. Thank you for your cooperation!
Have a wonderful week everyone,
Peter Flynn
