CELEBRATING OUR FAITH

As we begin the final term of the year, we do so with hearts full of gratitude and hope. It’s a time to celebrate all we have achieved so far and to look ahead to the special events that will mark the coming weeks.
October brings our focus to Catholic Mission Month, where we live out our faith through action and compassion. Students will take part in Socktober and the Coin Drop fundraiser, supporting those most in need around the world.
As the term continues, Secondary, Infants and Primary classes will lead Mass/Prayer Celebration. Primary students will go on excursions, and our Year 6 students will soon lead us in their final liturgy of their primary school years, a moment of reflection and thanksgiving.
We also look forward to the beginning of the Advent season, a time of joyful waiting and preparation for the coming of Christ. We will then turn our attention to our Christmas Appeal, inviting our school community to share the spirit of giving with families in need. Donations will support St Vincent de Paul (SVDP) and will be collected during our Thanksgiving Mass, when we come together as a whole school to give thanks for the blessings of the year and the ways we have grown together in faith and learning.
It promises to be a full and faith-filled 10 weeks ahead. Let us journey together through this term with energy, kindness, and a spirit of hope as we finish the year strong.
During October, our school joins with Catholic Mission to support the Socktober 2025 campaign. Each year, Catholic Mission invites schools across Australia to learn about and support families around the world who face poverty and hardship.
This year’s focus is on Sharon and her family in Mpika, Zambia. Sharon, her husband Victor, and their four children work hard farming maize to feed their family and earn a small income. However, changing weather and drought often make this a daily struggle. Catholic Mission’s Maize Mill Project is helping families like Sharon’s to process, store and sell their maize — providing food security, stable income, and the chance for their children to stay in school.
To support this important work, our school will hold a Socktober Coin Drop on Thursday, 23 October. Students are invited to wear their craziest socks and bring along a donation to help make a difference.

Through prayer, learning, and giving, our students are putting their faith into action and helping others to build a brighter future.
Together, let’s “kick goals for good” and "sock it to poverty" this Socktober! ⚽🧦
Parents and caregivers are invited to attend the upcoming Real Talk sessions being held across our diocese in Week 5, Term 4.
