Year 5/6 Learning Reflection

Week 3/4 - Term 4

This week in Maths, the Grade 5/6 students have been learning about Percentages. They have been calculating 50%, 25% and 10% of numbers and off prices. They have used the bar model, the short division algerithm and halving and halving again to support their learning. 

The grade 6 students have rounded up their 'Take  A Minute' Incursion with Brimbank Youth Council, learning about building strategies to help with the transition to Secondary School. 

The Grade 5/6 students also had an awesome day last Thursday as part of our Spanish Fiesta.

They enjoyed learning traditional Spanish dancing;

Taking part in Spanish food preparation and cooking;

Creating a traditional Argentinian house in the La Boca style;

And finishing the day with a procession showcasing the special costumes in the glorious sun.
