Don't risk the flu

Flu season is just around the corner. It's time to start thinking about the best way to protect yourself and your family.
The flu can be serious, especially for children. It is recommended that everyone older than 6 months get a flu vaccine every year.
The flu vaccine protects you, your family, and the wider community. It helps reduce the risk of getting the flu, but if you do still get sick it reduces the severity of your illness.
The flu is free for certain priority groups:
- children aged 6months to under 5 years
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people aged 6 months and older
- Adults aged 65 years and older
- Pregnant women (at any stage of pregnancy)
- Individuals with certain medical conditions that increase the risk of severe flu
