Achieving Excellence Together
Dear Families,
We have a jam packed newsletter today, so make sure you look through and check out everything our students have been up to!
Last week we celebrated STEM Week and the Albanvale Athletics Carnival. For the first time we invited families into the classroom to join us as we conducted science experiments on Wednesday. The students were so delighted to be able to share this experience with their families, and we hope you enjoyed it too!
I know those who attended our special STEM Week Assembly on Friday had a great time. The suspense as our class maths champions battled it out for year level supremacy was intense. Watching our students, from Preps all the way through to our 5/6s show off their excellence in front of the school was a proud moment for all at the school.
Athletics Day once again showed our strong community, with families joining us to watch our students try their best at all their athletic endeavours. We all have so much fun, and love being able to share it with you. If you were unable to make it we have taken LOTS of photos.
The adventures don't stop, with our Preps today visiting Werribee Zoo on their first year level excursion. The excitement levels were high, and we're all looking forward to hearing reports on the giraffes, elephants, emus and ostriches.
We have a few changes coming up as we transition through Term 2 which I would like to make our community aware of.
Within the next few weeks we will be transitioning fully to Compass to place lunch orders. This means students will no longer be able to bring paper bags with cash in them to place their lunch orders. The change will be taking place over the next three weeks. You will find a video from Compass outlining the process in the newsletter, but if you need assistance with logging in or placing an order please visit the office - the team will be more than happy to help you out.
Newsletter timing
I have been reviewing the timing of the newsletters as communication to our community. Our newsletters and assemblies tend to be very close together, so to make sure we are communicating with you in a more practical manner we will now be sending newsletters out at the start of our 'non-assembly' weeks. The first of these newsletters will be sent on Tuesday June 10 (a curriculum day), and continue fortnightly from there.
We are always looking at ways to improve our communication with you, be that through newsletters, Compass, Seesaw or social media. If you have any feedback or any ideas for future communications please send us an email.
Thank you for helping us Achieve Excellence, Together.
