In Year 3....

This term, instructors from Hall’s Taekwondo have been working with our Year 3 students, sharing their expertise and passion for the sport. Throughout the program, students have been introduced to a range of fundamental techniques and movements used in Taekwondo.

They have practised key stances such as the attention stance, which promotes focus and respect, and the boxing stance, from which they perform a variety of punches and blocks. Students have also developed their skills in executing different kicks and defensive movements.

Beyond learning physical techniques, Taekwondo has provided students with meaningful opportunities to build strength, improve flexibility and fitness, and develop confidence and self-discipline.

Our Year 3 students have thoroughly enjoyed each session and have embraced the challenge with enthusiasm demonstrating our school value of perseverance.

MANAGING OUR EMOTIONS AND REACTIONS!

Year 3 students have also been learning how to recognise the size of problems and use this to help manage their reactions. Students have explored the difference between small, medium, and big problems, and have practised responding calmly through role play activities.

For example, a small problem—like breaking a pencil—can usually be solved independently without getting upset. A bigger problem—such as falling and hurting yourself—means it’s important to seek help from a trusted adult.
