Harmony Week at OSHC šš§”
This week at OSHC we are celebrating Harmony Week, a special time to recognise and appreciate the many cultures, languages and backgrounds that make our community so unique. Throughout the week, children will take part in a variety of fun and engaging activities that explore multicultural diversity, inclusion and respect for one another.
Our senior students have taken a leadership role in the celebrations and have come up with a wonderful idea ā they will be hosting an International Food Festival for the program!
On Wednesday 18 March at 4:45 pm, the seniors will be cooking and preparing a range of delicious international foods in the dining area and sharing them with the rest of the children in the program.Ā
The menu will include:Ā
š PizzaĀ
š„¤ MilkshakesĀ
š„¬ San Choy BauĀ
š„¤ Soda Gembira ā a very sweet Indonesian drinkĀ
š« Brigadeiro ā a delicious Brazilian sweetĀ
š Gallipoli ToastĀ
š Fresh lemonade (depending on how many lemons we can collect!)
Ā
The children are very excited to share foods from different cultures and celebrate the diversity within our community. It promises to be a joyful afternoon full of collaboration, creativity and delicious treats!
Donation request: If you happen to have lemons at home, we would greatly appreciate any donations so the children can make fresh lemonade for the festival. š

Donations for Our Loose Parts Play Program
We are excited to share that OSHC will be reintroducing our Loose Parts Play program. Loose parts are everyday materials that children can move, combine, redesign, line up, take apart and put back together in endless ways. These materials encourage imagination, creativity, problem-solving and collaboration, allowing children to explore ideas and create their own unique play experiences.
Loose parts play is also a wonderful way to promote sustainability, as many of the materials used are recycled or repurposed items that might otherwise be thrown away. By giving these objects a new life, children learn the value of reusing materials while developing their creativity and critical thinking skills.
To support this program, we are seeking donations from families. If you have items at home that you no longer need and think children could use for creative play, we would greatly appreciate your contributions.
Ā
Some examples of useful loose parts include:
Ā· Pots and pans
Ā· Wooden spoons or kitchen utensils
Ā· Containers, tins or jars (safe and clean)
Ā· Bottle caps or lids
Ā· Small boxes or cardboard tubes
Ā· Fabric pieces or ribbons
Ā· Old kitchen items or interesting household objects
Ā
If you have something you would like to donate, please feel free to bring it along to OSHC.
Thank you for supporting childrenās creativity, sustainability awareness and imaginative play through our Loose Parts program!

IMPORTANT Reminders:
The Importance of Signing Children In and Out
For the safety and wellbeing of all children attending our service, it is essential that parents and carers sign their child in and out each day. This is a legal requirement and ensures we have an accurate record of who is responsible for each child at any given time.
If a child is not signed in, it indicates that the child is still under the parent or carerās responsibility. Similarly, if a child is not signed out, our records show that the child is still in the care of the service and under our responsibility. Accurate sign-in and sign-out records are therefore crucial for childrenās safety, supervision and compliance with regulations.
We kindly ask all families to please ensure that children are signed in on arrival and signed out when they leave. Thank you for your understanding, cooperation and for helping us maintain a safe environment for everyone.
If you have any issues with the sign in/out please see Laxmi or Bernadetta.
