At our latest Film Crew meeting, students explored how genre codes and conventions can transform a scene. By experimenting with techniques such as fast-cut editing and the use of spooky soundtracks, they discovered how mood and meaning can be completely reshaped.

Looking ahead to Term 2, students are preparing for a range of exciting content creation opportunities, with upcoming shoots including Digital Ambassadors and the VM Aged Care visit. Our radio podcast team has also been developing their skills in front of the camera, practising live presenting and building confidence in delivery.
Work is well underway on our student-led magazine, with chief editors beginning to take shape and guide the publication’s direction.
In addition, students have been busy working on a short film “micro shoot,” focusing on scriptwriting, editing, and adapting ideas into a concise one-minute film.
It has been fantastic to see students showcasing their creativity through animation using Blender. The next step will be incorporating these animations into future projects.

To support these growing projects, we also held our final discussion on laptop selection, carefully considering specifications such as memory and processing speed to best meet the needs of our Film Crew.
