Education in Faith

Sacrament of Confirmation

As we journey through this important time in our faith community, we are excited to begin preparing our candidates for the Sacrament of Confirmation. Confirmation is a special moment in the life of a young Catholic, where they are strengthened by the gifts of the Holy Spirit and deepen their commitment to living as followers of Christ.

Throughout the coming weeks, our Year 6 students will engage in prayer, reflection, and learning experiences that help them grow in their understanding of the Holy Spirit and their role in the Church. They will explore the meaning of the Sacrament, learn about the gifts and fruits of the Spirit, and be encouraged to consider how they can live out their faith in their everyday lives.

An important part of this preparation is choosing a Confirmation saint. This gives each candidate the opportunity to learn from the life of a holy person who inspires them, and to reflect on the qualities they hope to develop in their own faith journey.

We warmly invite families to support their child during this time by engaging in conversations about faith, praying together, and participating in parish opportunities where possible. Your involvement plays a vital role in helping our young people fully embrace this sacrament.

For students preparing to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation on 21 May 2026, three documents were sent home with your child yesterday. One outlines the role of the sponsor and who is eligible to undertake this responsibility, another provides guidance on choosing a Confirmation saint, and the third is an information form.

Please complete and return the information form to the school by Friday 24 April.

We keep all of our Confirmation candidates in our prayers as they prepare to receive the Holy Spirit and continue their journey as active members of our Church community.
