30 Year Reunion: Class of 1996

Thirty years on, the Class of 1996 came together on Saturday 8 August to reconnect and reminisce. The day began with a tour of Girton, giving alumni the chance to see how the School has evolved while revisiting familiar spaces and treasured memories.

The celebrations continued at the Brougham Arms Hotel, where classmates shared stories, laughter, and reflections on the journeys they've taken since their school days. Thank you to everyone who joined us - we can't wait to see you at your 40 Year Reunion! 

40 Year Reunion: Class of 1986

The Class of 1986 marked an incredible 40 years since graduation with a wonderful reunion on Saturday 8 August. Old Girtonians began the day with a guided tour of Girton by Head of Junior School, Mr Don Thompson, exploring the campus and reflecting on how much has changed, and how much remains the same.

From there, the celebrations moved to the Brougham Arms Hotel, where old friends reunited, memories were shared, and four decades of friendship and connection were celebrated. 

Thank you to the Class of 1986 for making the occasion so special. It was a pleasure to welcome you back to your Girton community.

Dear Girton Community,

I have been fundraising for the Cancer Council in memory of my dad, Les Evans. Over the winter, I set myself the challenge of completing 70 cold plunges and winter swims. One dip for every year of dad's life. I recently surpassed my fundraising target of $7000, in part due to the kindness and generosity of the Girton community.So many Old Girtonians and current and former Girton staff have supported me through donations and kind messages. I am deeply grateful for the way the Girton community has supported my family through this last impossibly hard year.

Next Saturday 22 August, I’ll be taking on my 70th and final Daffodil Day Dip at Bendigo Yacht Club on Lake Eppalock, and I would love the Girton community to join me. My mum and I will be taking the plunge together at 12:30pm, followed by an afternoon of winter swimming, community, remembrance and fundraising for cancer research. You’re very welcome to swim, cheer us on from dry land, or simply come along for a sausage and to share memories of my dad.

The Bendigo Yacht Club is generously supporting the event with a sausage sizzle, and their clubhouse and showers will be available for swimmers to warm up.

The event is by donation, with all donations supporting my Daffodil Day fundraiser for cancer research. You can donate via the link below, on the day, or simply come along and show your support.
