Over the past three weeks, our Grade 5 students have been developing their swimming skills at Mill Park Leisure Centre. It has been wonderful to see students getting involved, challenging themselves and building their confidence in the water. Throughout the program, students have been working on a range of swimming and water-safety skills, including improving their swimming techniques, developing endurance and learning important strategies for staying safe in and around water.
The students have shown great enthusiasm and persistence, with many demonstrating noticeable improvements in their confidence and abilities. It has been fantastic to see them encouraging one another and celebrating each other's progress. A big thank you to our students for their positive attitude and hard work throughout the program, and to our families for supporting them with everything they needed for each swimming session. We are very proud of the way our Grade 5 students have participated over the past three weeks!

We have been exploring our Discovery inquiry unit! Thank you to all the families who have generously donated materials for our puppet making.
Students have been learning about the structure of a narrative and will soon begin designing and creating their very own puppets. They will then explore how light, sound and different materials can be used to bring their stories to life.
We have also been learning about managing stress and big feelings. Students have been helping our friend Wibbly recognise signs of stress and practise ways to manage these feelings. We have explored calming strategies, which students can use when they are feeling worried, overwhelmed or in need of a calm moment.
