DISTRICT ATHLETICS 🎖️
What a great day (even though it started off quite windy and rainy) at the Casey Regional Athletics Centre! A huge well done to all of our students who competed, gave everything a go and supported each other throughout the day. And once again, showing admirable sportsmanship. 👏
A special thank you to all the parents who came along, helping out and cheering the kids on. We really appreciate your support! ❤️

🏐 Physical Education - Miss Atherton 🏐
This fortnight, Grades Prep & 1 have had a ball learning how to strike a ball (or balloon) with our hands, both to ourselves and a partner. Many students have challenge themselves and progressed from striking balloons to striking balls during their stations, amazing!
Grades 1 & 2 have been serving up a storm in PE! Students have shown incredible resilience and persistence while learning the challenging skills of digging, setting, spiking, and serving a volleyball. These skills take lots of practice, but every student has embraced the challenge, worked cooperatively with a partner, listened to feedback, and most importantly, had fun along the way!
Grades 3 & 4 have been smashing their volleyball skills! They’ve been focusing on control, accuracy and technique rather than just power, while building their skills through a range of fun game-based activities. They’re now putting everything together as they prepare to play some small-sided volleyball games, and they’re super keen to get started!
Grades 5 & 6 have been working hard during their SEPEP volleyball fixtures! This fortnight, we’ve seen fantastic progress as teams focus on working together, completing multiple passes, and building rallies before sending the ball over the net. Amazing teamwork and improvement guys!
The Arts - Mrs Anstis
As this term has progressed, students across all year levels have shown great resilience, patience and perseverance. Prep - Grade 2 students have continued to master body percussion with a range of songs. They have learnt to follow the beat of a piece of music by tapping their foot and nodding their head.
In Visual Art the junior classes have learnt to tie knots to begin making God's Eyes and join new pieces of wool to continue weaving. The support students have given each other in helping tie knots and celebrate their new found skills has been uplifting. Some students even tried their hands at making God's Eyes from sticks we found in the yard and others have made tassels to hang from their creations.
Media Art in Grades 3/4 has been a steep learning curve, much perseverance and resilience has been required. However, it has been great to see the progress they've made and watch them beginning to interview each other. We are looking forward to the editing stage, where students will be able to improve the raw footage of their recorded interview using technology.
Grade 5/6 students have worked hard to design and create a background, props and characters for their stop motion videos. Using clay to make characters and props has been a popular medium. It is excititng to see how their photos will be transformed into short videos.
