English

This semester, we are refocusing on the tools of writing and are reviewing all the components of a written piece that students need to master in order to have cohesive and dynamic writing. Last week we review the writing of persuasive text and wrote letters to persuade each other on chosen topics. Ask your child what they wrote about!

This week, students have been looking at biography's. We have considered what is included in a biography, how it is structured and why people write and read biographies. 

Mathematics

Following our unit on Order of Operations, we have taken a deeper dive into the use of number skills. We have looked at factors, multiples, square numbers and leveraged prior learning such as Arrays and number trees to connect this to past learning.

Humanities - History

We have continued to learn about l the 6 colonies and some of the circumstances the values and laws that brought Australia together to begin to form its constitution and government. We have taken a deeper look at what each colony was doing ahead of Federation and considered what it means to federate. 

Technology

Students have continued to look at the design process and what ergonomic designs is about and considered end user needs. We have now istarted designing our handles to meet the needs to the users in an ergonomic way.
