Camp Payments - Upcoming Due Date

Just a friendly reminder that the payment deadline for our upcoming camp is approaching!

Year 5/6 Camp

  • 📅 Camp Dates: Wednesday 4th – Friday 6th November
  • 💰 Payment Due: Wednesday 21st October

Please ensure fees are paid by the relevant deadline to secure your child's place. If you have any questions or need to discuss payment arrangements, please contact the office ahead of time.

End-of-Life Device Buyout — Year 3 (iPad) and Year 6 (Laptop) Families

Devices issued to students in Year 3 (iPads) and Year 6 (laptops) will reach the end of their lifecycle at the end of this school year, and eligible families now have the option to buy out their child's device rather than return it.

Families who have paid all device contributions in full over the life of the device are eligible for a buyout fee of just $50. Those who joined partway through the device's lifecycle, or who have missed one or more contributions, may face a higher fee reflecting their outstanding contribution balance.

Invoices were applied in Compass for all eligible families whose buyout fee is $350 or less. To check a buyout invoice, families can log in to Compass, go to the Payments Centre and select General Payments. Where a family's buyout fee is above $350, an invoice has not been applied automatically. Those who still wish to proceed should contact the school office to arrange the buyout.

Buyout fees must be paid by Friday 13th November. Devices not paid for by the deadline will need to be returned at the end of the school year so the school can finalise the device rollover process.

Families with questions about their device buyout or the fee amount are encouraged to contact the school office for assistance.

Late Pick-Ups & OSHClub

The school day finishes at 3:30pm, and we ask all families to please be on time for pick-up.

If your child has not been collected by 3:45pm, they will be brought to the office, recorded as a late pick-up, and we will contact you. If you know you are going to be delayed, please call the office as soon as possible.

At times, this can involve 10–12 children waiting to be collected. The office team then needs to supervise the children, contact families, follow up with parents/carers and ensure that every child is accounted for and that someone is on their way to collect them. This can take a significant amount of staff time and can impact the office team's ability to manage the many other important tasks and enquiries that occur at the end of the school day.

Please be aware that the school is not an after-school care service and staff are not responsible for arranging emergency childcare. If you are unable to collect your child on time, it is your responsibility to make alternative arrangements for their care.

Children can only attend OSHClub if they are already registered with the service. The school cannot simply send an unregistered child to OSHClub when a family is unexpectedly delayed.

For this reason, we strongly recommend that all families register with OSHClub, even if you do not expect to use the service regularly. Having a registration in place provides a useful safety net if unexpected circumstances prevent you from getting to school on time.

This can be particularly helpful for families who are new to Melbourne or who do not yet have family or friends nearby who can assist with an emergency pick-up.

OSHClub provides:

  • Before School Care: 7:00am–8:45am
  • After School Care: 3:30pm–6:00pm
  • Care on pupil-free days and during school holidays

Late pick-ups also require school staff to remain responsible for supervising students after the school day has finished, taking staff away from their usual duties and school operations.

Please plan ahead and make sure you have a reliable pick-up or care arrangement in place. Registering with OSHClub is a simple way to have a back-up option available when unexpected delays occur.

Line Markings on Forecourt

We have line markings on the forecourt approach in front of the main door and library. This was done to enhance safety in an area that can get crowded and hectic - especially before school and during play.

We ask that parents support the intent of these lines by keeping children behind the line during the morning opening. The idea of children crowding up against the glass door and potentially getting 'crushed' is not one we want to promote. This is our way to make the opening more palatable for all. It will also allow visitors to get into the building with more ease.

  • Keep Clear Zone:
    • This is to help the traffic, particularly at the start of the day but also during play times.
    • It will stop the doors opening/closing.
  • Walking/No Hat No Play Zone:
    • Only walking in this area, not running.
    • This is mainly the area in front of the library
