Message from our Principal
Mr Mark Pollard
Dear Silverton families,
Welcome to the start of Semester Two. Congratulations to our students for the way in which they have returned from the break.
Over the school holidays, we had new carpet installed in LC1, LC2 and LC4 which is very exciting! I have encouraged our students to make sure that we do our best to look after the new facilities at Silverton.
Last Tuesday, we had Jack from the Cyber Safety Project run the incursion program for all four Learning areas. Thank you to our students for the way they conducted themselves during their session. We were given lots of important tips from Jack on how to be safe with our use of technology.
Yesterday afternoon we ran our Specialist afternoon and BBQ for our 2027 Foundation students. It was well attended, which was great. Thank you so much to all families who came along. A big thank you also to the staff who helped run the activities.
Today we had our Chess Gala Day in LC5. Well done to all students involved in the competition. Thank you to Miron for organising the day. Congratulations to new Senior Champion Khang and Parshv new Junior Champion.

Good luck to all Silverton teams competing in the Interschool Sports Finals next week!
I’m sure everyone would be aware that tomorrow, we will have significantly reduced staffing due to the AEU industrial action. Please refer to Compass regarding changes to tomorrow’s school day. If your child needs to come to school, and you have not already notified us, please fill out this form ASAP.
A reminder about fundraising. This year we are raising funds for the following projects:
Our 2026 Fundraising goal is $12,000. So far this year we have raised $5,800.
Just a reminder that Thursday 30th July and Friday 31st July are curriculum days so there will be no school on these days. Thursday 30th is our Student Led Conference day. Students come with a parent/carer for their conference time. Bookings are still open on Compass. Team Kids will be running a whole day program on both days for students who need it.
Thank you for your ongoing support,
Mark Pollard – Principal
