Hello families, and welcome to this week's newsletter.

Fathers Day

Happy Father's Day to all of the BPS dads, granddads, uncles, and special people! I hope you had a wonderful time celebrating with your family on the weekend. A big thank you to our Parents and Friends Group and parent volunteers for their help last week with the Father's Day Stall. Preparing for the stall is also a lot of hard work behind the scenes, and I appreciate the support you provide to our students so they have the opportunity to purchase a gift. 

It has been a big couple of weeks for the school.  Last week it felt like the whole community turned out to celebrate Book Week.  Students (with the assistance of parents) turned out in fabulous costumes, some of which had clearly gone to extraordinary efforts to create. 

As I mentioned at the last assembly, I was privileged to attend the junior school excursion to ScienceWorks recently. We sent 105 students on the day, and the efforts of our students, staff and volunteers were exceptional.  I was so very proud to be a part of the team representing the school community that day.  

Man Cave

Last week, several of our staff underwent professional development with The Man Cave program. The Man Cave is Australia’s leading preventative mental health charity for boys and young men. It has provided 100,000+ young men with impactful programs, positive male role models and accessible resources to schools, educators and young men.  Aligning with our commitment to explore and strengthen our approaches as a school in supporting our students' mental health and wellbeing, The Man Cave's vision of 'empowering boys to become great men' is a direction we are keen to build upon here at Ballan.  

Rezoning Reminder

Ballan has been rezoned to Daylesford College. From 2027, Daylesford College will become the designated neighbourhood secondary school for students from Ballan. This change will support clearer pathways for our students as they transition from primary to secondary education. We will continue to share further information and updates with families as more details become available.
