Co-Principal's Report

Educational Opportunities
There have been plenty of educational excursions of late. The Year 9 – 12 students attended our local DECCA depot on Monday afternoon to learn about the career choices on offer there. The Year 10 -12 cohort attended a health workshop on consent in Horsham on last Tuesday and the Year 9/10 and our students completing Vocational Major and Victorian Pathway Certificates will attend the Wimmera Careers Expo next Tuesday at Longerenong College. This is a great expo with up to 90 career stands on offer, that have a multitude of different careers within each stand. We head there annually so students get the exposure to current and evolving career opportunities.
Congratulations Augie
Last Monday our local Fire Management Team attended our Whole School Assembly to present Augie Carter with their appreciation and a jumper featuring his design on their end of season Fire Management Team merch. Augie entered the competition offered to local school children to submit artwork for their jumpers. Great work Augie!
Future Funding Build
Building refurbishment will commence late October. This is a really exciting time for Edenhope College and its learning community. If you are not across the Future Funding details, we have been granted $13.1 million to modernise the school moving forward. Staff, students and community have all had input into the planning process and designed what we feel will deliver an outstanding upgraded educational facility. Planning was all based around providing the best learning environment for students. It will be busy over the next two and a half years, so keep an eye on development!
Staff
We wish Donna Tucker all the best as she joins Goroke in a teaching capacity. Donna has been amazing over the years and we wish her well in the next part of her educational journey. Paris Hardwick is acting as our Assistant Principal currently and we have just put up an ongoing position for a substantive Assistant Principal.
Congratulations to other staff members Tahlia Cardnell, Karla Cardnell and Eddie Price who have all had new additions to their families and are currently off on maternity leave.
With a lot of students and staff feeling the effects of winter, which is landing, there is a lot of sickness going around. Thanks to staff on deck who have helped plug the gaps. Holidays will be welcome when they arrive for everyone to re-charge.
