Did you know at St Joseph's we use a, 'Food and Green Waste bin collection from our nature strip.'

We need many different ways to stay on top of our food and green waste.

We have 7 chooks, a worm farm, 8 compost bins and Mrs Huon's pig, Spud!

It was not enough. We needed help.  We  included in our graden and cafe a food and green waste bin from the Mornington Peninsula council. This option is open to residents for a fee and is collected fortnightly from your curbside in a 240L kerbside bin. We have a kitchen caddy in the cafe that takes all those hard to compost like onions and garlic.

DID YOU KNOW: Mornington Shire states that by removing food waste we can reduce your landfill bin volume by up to 45%, reducing the cost of waste disposal and get us closer to Net Zero emissions by 2040.
