Dear Parents,

This week we celebrate Catholic Education week and highlight all of the wonderful strengths of our Catholic system. Catholic Education focuses on the education of the whole child ensuring every student shines and flourishes.

Catholic Education Week – Sunday 15 March to Sunday 22 March 2026 – is an opportunity for all Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of Melbourne to celebrate their Catholic identity and community contribution, and the strength of the sector.

This week we also celebrate St Joseph’s Day. St Joseph is a special role model in our school and our patron saint. We look to St Joseph to guide our beautiful school and thank him and all of our wonderful male staff for being such great role models to our students.

Students are invited to dress in house spirit colours on Friday including ribbons, streamers, hair spray, hats, banners etc. We want it to be a day of colour celebrating our wonderful house spirit program.

House spirit t-shirts will be delivered to school on Thursday ready for the special day on Friday. Students will be involved in a house spirit activity in the afternoon commencing at 1.45pm - 3.15pm and we invite all parents to attend and join in.

On this day some Year 5 students will attend the St Patrick’s day mass and concert in the city with Mrs Milan.

The Health promoting schools student leadership team is also facilitating the walk/ride to school day on Friday 20th March.

If your child rides to school on a regular basis we encourage them to ride as their normal routine. They will be given a ride to school certificate and prize.

If your child does not ride to school regularly we encourage parents to ride to school with their child under supervision and they will be given a ride to school certificate and prize.

We encourage all other students to meet at the Crib Point United Petrol Station at 8am. This will be the group of children and/or  parents who walk to school with the staff. They will be given a walk to school certificate and prize. Parents and families are more than welcome to walk with us to school.

We thank Father Shymon on celebrating a wonderful Staff commissioning Mass together with staff from Padua, St Mary’s, St Joseph’ s and St Brendan’s. Working together as a Parish community strengthens our Catholic Identity and builds a wonderful learning community for all.

Also there is a  wonderful atmosphere occurring at school at the moment with the four square games and students playing after school. It is great to see our students so engaged and having so much fun. Just a reminder parents are responsible for supervising their children after school and must remain on the school ground if their child is still there. Parents must be watching their child on playground at all times as there are no staff on duty past 3.30pm.

Congratulations to Grace Zerbe in Year 6 for receiving the Westernport Sound Shell music scholarship for 2026. Grace will receive weekly guitar lessons and will also receive a new guitar.

Finally, we have had a number of families receive a parking fine on Martin st in the last two weeks. Please do not park on any nature strips. We worked as a school advisory council last week on this issue and are sending letters to the Shire and others to express our disappointment in this process. I will keep you all updated on any new findings.

Yours in Partnership,

Gab
