Dear Parents, Carers and Families,

What a busy and exciting time it has been at St Peter’s! Over the past fortnight our students have been making the most of a range of learning opportunities both inside and outside the classroom, with swimming, wellbeing events and transition activities all contributing to a rich and engaging beginning of the term! If you haven't already done so, I encourage you to keep an eye on our school Facebook page, where we regularly share photos and updates celebrating the many wonderful things happening across our St. Peter’s school community.

As we move further into Term 4, planning for the 2027 school year is well underway. Thank you to the families who have already communicated their intentions for next year. If you know that your child will not be returning to St Peter's in 2027, I would appreciate you contacting the school office as soon as possible. This information assists us with enrolment planning, staffing and the organisation of class groups for next year.

School Advisory Council Meeting

Our School Advisory Council will meet this evening to discuss a range of Term 4 matters and preparations for the 2027 school year. The Council continues to play an important role in supporting the strategic direction of St Peter's, providing valuable parent and community perspectives on school improvement, student learning and community engagement.

I would like to thank our School Advisory Council members for their ongoing commitment to our school. Their generosity, thoughtful contributions and support are greatly valued as we continue working together to provide the very best outcomes for our students and families.

Morning Reading Program

Our Morning Reading Program continues to grow, with more students joining us each week. It has been wonderful to see children arriving early, settling into a book and beginning their day in a calm and positive way.

Reading for even a short period each day has a significant impact on literacy development, and we encourage families to continue taking advantage of this opportunity.

When: 8:30am - 8:50am

Where: Gathering Space

We look forward to seeing even more students enjoying Morning Reading in the weeks ahead.

We were delighted to welcome families to another successful session of Peter's Pals Playgroup this week. The laughter, conversation and connections being formed are a wonderful reminder of the important role our school plays in supporting families from the earliest years.

If you know of friends, neighbours or family members with children aged 0-5 years, please encourage them to come along and join us.

When: Wednesdays during Term 4, 9:00am - 10:00am

Where: Djak Tjarra Learning Space

Foundation 2027 Transition Program

This week we welcome our future Foundation students for the first stage of their transition journey. These sessions provide children with valuable opportunities to become familiar with our learning spaces, meet staff and begin building confidence ahead of starting school next year.

We thank our Foundation team for the care and enthusiasm they bring to these sessions and look forward to continuing to welcome our newest students and families to the St Peter's community.

Attendance Matters

As the term progresses, maintaining strong attendance remains a priority. Every day of learning is important, particularly as classes work through key assessment and end-of-year learning programs.

Thank you to the many families who continue to support regular attendance and punctual arrival each day. These routines make a real difference to student learning and wellbeing.

Term 4 Closure Dates

  • Wednesday 28th October - Bendigo Cup Day

  • Monday 2nd November - Staff Professional Development Day

  • Friday 4th December - Staff Professional Development Day

Thank you for your ongoing support of our school and for the many ways you partner with us in your child's learning journey. There is much to look forward to over the coming weeks as we celebrate student achievement and begin preparing for an exciting 2027.

I hope you have a wonderful week.

Kind regards,
