Sport and PE at SJV

School Sport Victoria Athletics

Congratulations to all of our students who represented SJV at the Kingston Division Athletics on October 8th and the Southern Metropolitan Region Athletics Carnival yesterday.

We had six students competing at Division:

• Joaquin, who won the 9/10-year-old Multi Class 800m, 200m and Long Jump
• Jacob, who placed second in the 11-year-old 100m and 7th in the 200m
• Xavier S, who won the 11-year-old 1500m and placed second in the 800m
• Olivia M, who placed 6th in the 9/10-year-old Triple Jump
• The 11-year-old 4x100m relay team of Jacob, Lenny, Xavier and Christian, who placed 11th

Joaquin also broke the 11-year-old 800m Multiclass record, an outstanding achievement!

We had three of our students progress on to Region:

• Joaquin, who won the 9/10-year-old Multi Class 800m, 200m and Long Jump
• Jacob, who placed 11th in the 11-year-old 100m
• Xavier S, who placed 6th in the 11-year-old 1500m and placed 4th in the 800m

We are so proud of their efforts and the positive way in which they have represented our school. We wish Joaquin all the best as he goes on to the State Championships next week

Regional Hoop Time Finals

Congratulations to our Grade 3/4 boys' Hoop Time team, who represented St John Vianney's with great pride at the Regional Hoop Time Finals!

Facing tough competition from schools across the region, the boys played with skill, teamwork, and determination, battling their way through to the semi-finals. In the end, they finished a fantastic 4th place — a superb achievement at this level.

A huge well done to all eight players (Willem, Santino, Alex S, James A, Max W, Miles T, Xavier C and Hudson M) for their effort and sportsmanship throughout the day. We are very proud of you!

Run Club

Run Club will continue in term 4. On Fridays, all grade 3-6 students are invited to join the Run Club. We meet at Walter Galt Reserve 8:15 AM, and students will be escorted to school once finished. Looking forward to seeing even more students get involved.

Interschool Sport Uniform Reminder

A big thank you to all our students who represented SJV in interschool sport this year — basketball, soccer, footy, and more!

Now that the season has wrapped up, we'd love to have our uniforms back so they're ready for future events. If your child still has any interschool sport uniforms at home, please return it  as soon as possible. Your help keeps our program running smoothly — thank you!
