Performing Arts Term 4

Prep

This term, students will explore the exciting world of music-making! They will create their own musical ideas using graphic notation, experiment with fast and slow movements and loud and quiet sounds, and practise writing and playing rhythms. Students will also explore melody-making as they develop their creativity and musical understanding.

Alongside our songwriting activities, students will begin preparing for the end-of-year concert. We look forward to sharing their musical learning and performances with our school community!

Grade 1-4

This term, students will focus on developing their music composition skills. They will explore graphic notation, practise writing rhythms and melodies, and learn to play their own musical creations. Students will have opportunities to experiment with musical ideas and bring their compositions to life!

They will also begin preparing their class song and dance for the end-of-year concert. We look forward to seeing their creativity and confidence grow as they work towards this exciting performance.

Grade 5/6

The first four weeks of Term 4 will have a big focus on our Slinky Malinki production! Students will be busy learning their scenes and choreography, rehearsing together and preparing for their upcoming performances. It’s an exciting time as all the pieces come together!

Alongside production rehearsals, students will continue developing their music composition skills. They will explore graphic notation, practise writing rhythms and melodies, and learn to play their own musical pieces.

Once the production is complete, students will turn their attention to the end-of-year concert, preparing their class song and dance for another exciting performance opportunity.
