2024 Regional Spelling Bee

On Thursday 15th of August the winner of the Boambee PS Stage 2 Spelling Bee, Ezra Keipert, and the winner of the Boambee PS Stage 3 Spelling Bee, Josephine Zariquiey, competed in the Regional Spelling Bee Finals. I was lucky enough to supervise both events and can proudly say that both Ezra and Josephine did a wonderful job representing our school. Ezra placed 3rd in his event and Josephine placed equal 5th. Below is a list of the words that they had to spell. How would you have gone?

Naidoc Activities - Bongil Bongil

A big shout out to the effort taken to get our students to Bongil Bongil recently for Naidoc activities - many with bikes! It was a stunning day amongst the eucalypts. I hope your child enjoyed the day and had plenty to say on the drive home. Thank you to the community leaders that took the day to share their culture or help make it a great event: the Naden-Dumas family, Devine family, Widders family along with Matt Flanders and Bryce. And how many dampers did Saxen’s Mum supervise being made. This year we also had some Deadly Gamambi alumni return from Toormina High to mentor: Billy, Harry, Koby, Troy, Jaylen and Jai. Building strong connections in our community.

NAIDOC Activities - In School

On behalf of Boambee Public School - thank you to all of the people who helped us celebrate NAIDOC Week, with celebrations across the week we have had special guests delivering on multiple occasions and our students have had wonderful learning experiences!

Mountain Bike Riding

Kindy Mountain Bike riding began this week. Due to the rain we had to move up to the top COLA which meant we had to be extra careful and focus on balance and basics, the students were fantastic!
