As part of our Semester 2 classroom expectations, the Student Engagement Leader team worked with students and teachers to identify what each year level needs to focus on. These goals were shaped directly from ideas shared in assemblies, focus groups, and classroom feedback. They give each cohort a clear direction and help build consistent learning habits across the school surrounding our school values of Respect, Kindness and Confidence.
Year 7
We manage our behaviour and noise respectfully, listen and follow instructions the first time and stay focused on learning
Year 8
We treat each other kindly, be prepared for learning, take responsibility for our behaviour, and stay focused
Year 9
Show respect in all interactions and be actively involved in your learning
Year 10
Value others’ contributions and approach every task with genuine effort
Year 11
Show maturity through punctuality, strong work habits, and growing independence
Year 12
Take responsibility, stay accountable, and finish strong
A group of our Year 9 students took part in volunteer work this week, supporting the setup for the Hoppet as part of their Future Makers program. Volunteering plays a vital role in small communities, with many events relying on the generosity of volunteers to run successfully.
This opportunity gave students the chance to experience the feeling of volunteerism, and to give a little back to our community. While being out on the snow isn’t everyone’s favourite place to be, it’s always valuable to try something new and step outside the comfort zone.
Thank you to Jenny Farrington for supporting the students on the day.
