Soccer Stars at Sacred Heart

Soccer has been big for 53 students at Sacred Heart, ranging from U6s to U12s who have played for the Tatura Junior Soccer Club. 

This takes part in the Shepparton Junior Soccer Association Saturday competition and runs from April to September. 

Recently, awards were handed out at the presentation day for the U12 teams. Congratulations to these students who received an award. 

U12 White Team – Best and Fairest and Golden Boot – Lucas Worm 

U12 White Team – Coaches Award – Mitchell Cross 

U12 Red Team – Coaches Award – Marco Nigro 

U12 Girls Team – Best and Fairest – Elyssa Woodward 

Runner Up Best and Fairest – Elisa Nigro 

Coaches Award – April-Violet Draper 

Most Improved – Vivian Hippisley 

 

This season was the first time that Tatura Junior Soccer Club were able to enter a girl only U12 team.

Well done to Elyssa Woodward, Elisa Nigro, Eva Minutoli, Peaches Morrison, April-Violet Draper, Ruby Draper, Khloe Reid, and Vivian Hippisley who played this season.

Tatura Junior Soccer Club hopes to have more girl only teams next season and beyond.  

 

This year also saw the start of the GV Suns Junior Academy.  Many players trialed for the Academy in their respective age groups. Throughout the year they attended a number of tournaments. 

Well done to players from Sacred Heart that participated in the GV Suns Junior Academy this season. 

U8 Team- Domenic Cricelli  (Runners Up at Macca’s City Cup U8 division, Winners at AFS Shepparton Cup U8 division)   

U9 Team- Johnny Russ and Gabriel Gilboy (Winners at AFS Shepparton Cup U9 division) 

U11 Team- Marco Nigro (Winners at Macca City Cup U11 division, Runners Up at Griffith Cup U11 division & Winners AFS Shepparton Cup U11 division)

Basketball Stars at Sacred Heart

Recently there have also been some fantastic achievements and results in Basketball for Sacred Heart students.

Congratulations Hamish, Tommee, Hunter and Lucas who play for U14 Tatura Titans. The boys have trained and worked hard this season and recently won their Division at the Greater Shepparton Basketball Tournament. Well done! 

Also, a huge congratulations to Baxter and Mac who play in the U12 team and made it to the Semi-Finals. Great job!
