Sacramental Program: Sacrament of Confirmation and Eucharist

This Sunday, 17th November, the Sacrament of Confirmation and Eucharist will take place in our church. This is a special occasion for the children, their families, our school and parish communities. Please keep the children and their families in your prayers this week. We wish the children every blessing and best wishes for this Sunday.

Zooper Doopers

Zooper Doopers are continuing to be sold at the second break each Thursday. The cost is $1.00 each. 

As a part of our Catholic tradition, in the month of October, we raise money for Catholic Missions. This organisation helps to support communities in need throughout the world. The money we raise will go a long way to helping the work of Catholic Missions.

Children can purchase a zooper dooper for themselves or another family member. We ask that they don’t purchase them for friends.

Fr Uday:

Fr Uday will be away from 17th – 29th November. Fr Joe Taylor will help co-celebrate the Sacrament Mass on the 17th November with Bishop Shane. We wish Fr Uday a safe and enjoyable time away.

Giving Tree Appeal

Ho Ho Ho! Is it Santa or Jesus we are waiting for?

Now you may be wondering why we are starting the conversation about Advent with Christmas miles away?  We are often too influenced by the commercialism of the Christmas Season. 

Let’s be honest – it’s not the holiday or even the copious presents, it’s about Christ – yep that’s why we call it Christmas. How can you be Christ like as we celebrate the birth of the Son of God?  In what ways can we spread his key message to love one another, feed the hungry, cloth the needy.  As we get ready to celebrate the birth of Jesus, that’s what Advent is about, what will you do?  

At Sacred Heart our Giving Tree appeal will commence shortly.  The aim is to provide items of need, ‘gifts’, to donate to the Society of St Vincent de Paul, Vinnies, that will go to the very people that Jesus wanted us to help.  Are you ready?
