Year 1

On Wednesday 27th May, Year 1 went to Coal Creek History Museum in Korumburra. First, we saw the lake with cute little ducks swimming in it. Then we saw the old schoolhouse and we had a lesson. I wrote with an ink pen. Ari 1S

On Wednesday, Year 1 went to Coal Creek. We went on a bus and it took one hour to get there. When we got there, we had morning tea. After that we did a tour. Halo 1W

All of Grade 1 went to Coal Creek. I went on the bus together with my partner, Wilhemina. When we got out of the bus, we had snack at the old church. I saw a waterfall. It was beautiful. Zoe 1M 

To get to Coal Creek, we had to go on a bus. It was raining so hard. When we got there, we went on a tour. After that, we went to a school. We got to use ink. Ruby 1F

We had lots of fun at Coal Creek. I'll tell you what was really fun - the school! When we went to the Blacksmith, he made us a really cool leaf. It was smooth. Ella 1D

We split into two groups. First, we went to our destination. My group went to the General Store. There were lots of old things like an old cash register and some sweets. Percy 1S

We went on the bus to get there. We got to see what school was like in the olden days. The Blacksmith was my favourite. Everly 1D

We learnt all about how it was back in the olden days. We had to go to school, and it was my favourite activity of the day. Then we went to the General Store. There we saw a gramophone which played the music. It was funny because if you wanted to turn the volume down, you had to put a smelly sock in it! Spencer 1D

At the General Store, they played old-fashioned music on a record. The music was cool. The Blacksmith made a leaf out of metal. My favourite part was the bus. Asher 1F

I learnt that in the olden days they had different money and different coins. I also learnt about the Blacksmith. He melted metal and it was hot and orange and red. Then the Blacksmith made a leaf out of metal and poured cold water over it to cool it down. We got to keep the leaf. Luna 1S

At Coal Creek, we went to the olden-day Jail, the bank and the Doctor's house. We also saw the mine manager's house, a giant game of Chess and an abandoned mine. Cassian 1M

When we were at Coal Creek, we saw a mine and real coal. We went to the Doctor's office, we saw the Jail and the Court house. George 1D

At Coal Creek, we got to see the Prison. It was very dark and black inside. We also saw the Doctor's office. It was also the dentist. Daisy 1D

On Wednesday 27th May, all the Grade 1 students went on the bus to Coal Creek. We visited the General Store and the old man weighed some lollies and put them in a paper bag. It was cold there but I put on lots of layers. Piper 1M

At Coal Creek, we went on a tour. We went to the old school. It was so fun! I got wet but I still had fun. Frankie 1F

Everyone had fun at Coal Creek. It was amazing! Especially the school and the ink writing. Evie 1D
