SCHOOL ASSEMBLY

KSC WHOLE SCHOOL ASSEMBLY - 2026
KSC held its first whole school assembly for 2026 yesterday. School Captains Nat and Georgia led the proceedings with confidence and enthusiasm, doing a fabulous job.
Ms Coleman officially welcomed new staff members to KSC: Katelyn Foley, Danny Noonan, Jo Parsons and Shell Herman. A warm welcome was also extended to our Year 7 students, with best wishes for a positive and successful year at the college. Ms Coleman also spoke about the importance of regular attendance and encouraged students to be at school every day unless unwell.
Students were reminded to help keep our school grounds free from rubbish and to make use of recycling systems, including paper and cardboard recycling and the 10c container collection. All drinks sold at the canteen are recyclable and can be redeemed for 10 cents per container, raising money for student-led projects.
Swimming Sports will be held on 12 February. Students are encouraged to wear their house colours and participate in as many events as possible to help earn House points.
The canteen menu has had a few changes, with daily specials now available. The canteen is also open on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings from 8.30am, selling fruit, yoghurt and fruit muesli. Breakfast Club has also returned and will run on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 8.30am.
Students interested in joining the SRC are encouraged to keep an eye on the Compass newsfeed, where sign-up information will be posted soon. This is a great opportunity for students to have a voice within the school.
Ms Reymers and Ms Handley also promoted the Term 3 evening showcase, previously known as A Night to Remember. The event will now be called Artists After Dark, with the theme “REBELS.” Students can contribute through performance art such as music, drama, spoken word, dance or comedy, or through visual and media art including sculpture, painting, photography, film or digital art. Sign-up details will be available soon via Compass.
