THE VILLAGE

The Village: Supporting Student Wellbeing Together
As we begin a new school year at Korumburra Secondary College, our Wellbeing and Inclusion focus continues to centre on supporting students to feel safe, connected, and ready to learn. Wellbeing is a shared responsibility, and we’re committed to working alongside students, families, and staff to ensure every young person feels supported both academically and personally.
This year, our Wellbeing approach will continue to build on strong foundations. Focusing on connection, early support, inclusion, and clear expectations aligned with our school values. Whether students need a listening ear, practical support, or guidance to navigate challenges, our Wellbeing structures are here to help them thrive.
Meet the Wellbeing and Inclusion Team
Our Wellbeing and Inclusion Team works collaboratively across the school to support student learning, mental health, and inclusion.
The team includes:
Wellbeing Coordinator - Mindy Hams
Mental Health Practitioner- Elica Evans
School Nurse - Anna Close Mewett
Student Wellbeing for Learning – Jessi Hunter
Senior School Coordinator – Nicole Creaser
Middle School Coordinator – Chris Cronin
Tyson Biffin - Assistant Principal (Wellbeing and Inclusion)
Together, this team works closely with classroom teachers, families, and external services to provide consistent, student-centred support across the school.
Accessing Wellbeing Support
Students and families can access wellbeing support through a number of pathways. Currently, referrals can be made via Year Level Coordinators, who work closely with the Wellbeing and Inclusion Team to ensure students are supported in a timely and appropriate way.
In the coming weeks, students will also be provided with their own Wellbeing referral forms through COMPASS, giving them another avenue to seek support when they need it. This addition is designed to empower students to ask for help and strengthen early intervention across the school.
Our Staff and Students have made a tremendous start to 2026. There is certainly a nice vibe around the school!
