Principal Report

Dear Families,
It has been another busy week of learning here at Dana Street Primary School. Our students are deep into their inquiry topics with Our Place in Space. From our Foundation students learning about the Changing Sky, through to our senior students studying Space, all of our students are immersed in rich learning experiences.
This week, our teachers spent a day learning new things with Andrea Hillbrick. Andrea worked with our staff on using some collaboration tools and how we can use student data to further inform our planning and teaching. It was a fabulous opportunity for our teaching staff to have dedicated time to work collaboratively and continue to create rich learning experiences for our students.
School Picnic
It was wonderful to see so many families at our annual picnic on Tuesday night. Thankfully, the weather held, and we had an enjoyable evening together. The gelato van was a hit, and it was great to have Sam Bell singing some tunes for us as well, thanks, Sam! It was so lovely to meet many more families throughout the evening, and I will do my best to remember as many names as possible.
School Council Elections - Nominations Close Monday 2nd March
Thanks to the parents and carers who attended the School Council information session on Tuesday evening. Nominations remain open until 4.00 pm on Monday, 2nd March. Interested parents and carers can nominate themselves using the nomination form on Sentral, or there are copies in the front office.
Sports Day
We are so excited for our Sports Day next Tuesday, 3rd March. Our students have been practising hard all term, and they are really looking forward to the event. Thanks to all the parents and carers who have put their hand up to help out on the day. We will see you there.
Have a wonderful weekend,
Helen
