Ibu Jones has been busily working on plans for our 2025 Indonesian Day. This is taking place on Wed 5th November!
On the day, students are invited to wear Red and/or White to school to celebrate the fun day. Aaron and Nina from Baguskan will be returning to do some Indonesian instrument & dancing workshops. They will be ending the day with a whole school concert incorporating the dances & music into a role play! This year’s role play will be entitled- ‘Kancil the Clever Mouse Deer.’ There will be no additional cost to participate in this cultural program, a contribution amount was included within the 2025 Parent Payment. If you have not yet contributed towards your child’s 2025 Parent Payments, and would like to do so, please contact the office.’
Families are more than welcome to attend the afternoon 'concert', from 2.30-3.15pm.

Our Bunnings BBQ went off without a hitch last Saturday. The wonderful weather certainly ensured a steady flow of hungry shoppers.
A BIG thankyou to all our volunteers who assisted on the day, with an extra special shout out to Kat Matthews - who was our BBQ Captain for the entire day. Kat was instrumental in the organisation and getting this fundraiser off the ground.
We are so extremely pleased to announce that we raised $3,300 profit from the day! ...That's a lot of sausages!

Let’s celebrate our teachers for their skilled work in educating, inspiring and supporting our young people.
Hats off to teachers this World Teachers’ Day!
When you see a teacher next Friday, any teacher, please be sure to thank and acknowledge them for EVERYTHING they do!

Fridays have been nominated as Nude Food days at Newtown PS. We encourage families to pack rubbish free lunches each Friday for their children. Our SRC will visit a selection of classes each week, awarding house points to students who have nude food lunches on these days.

Barwon Women’s and Children’s Hospital artwork competition.
We were approached by the Geelong hospital and asked to contribute to an artwork wall they are going to create once the building was completed.
Students were asked to draw/paint something that makes them happy and it was so inspirational seeing all the various things and people that make our students happy!
Unfortunately, I could only submit one piece of art to be displayed, so after an anonymous vote from staff, the winner is Imani SC (Middle P) with her drawing of an ambulance and the super nurse. Artworks are currently on display outside the hospital! Go visit University Hospital Geelong’s main entrance, off Bellerine Street. See map below for exact location:
