Messages from the Principal

Hello NPS Families,
After a 2-week stint of long service leave spent on the s Gold Coast, it was genuinely great to be back on board this week, leading into the last 8 weeks of the 2025 school year!
Before I go any further, I have to stop and start with acknowledging just what, once again, a resounding success our annual School Concert was on Tuesday night. Our students absolutely lit up the stage through music and dance - from our tremendous Preps performing for their first time, to our year 6 cohort for their last. I also need to give a shout out to Jeremy, Clyde, Hector, Dottie and Ella for their sensational Hamilton Performance! It was nothing short of ahhhh-mazing! The energy and enthusiasm throughout the night was contagious, and it was heartwarming to see so many families and guests in attendance! Thank you again to Mrs. Bedson and all staff for their tireless efforts in coordinating such a great production.
Although I was unable to attend, all reports have led to stating that another one of our major yearly events, our NPS Art Show, was also a huge success! The Art Show transformed our school into a gallery of imagination and expression where our students’ creativity was on full display. Thank you to all who came to admire and support their artistic achievements, and a huge thank you to Ms. Taverna for leading this event, as well as all who contributed to its success.
Last Saturday, our Parents and Friends Committee led our Bunnings BBQ Bonanza down at the Waurn Ponds Store! Not many things beat a Bunnings Sausage!
A huge shoutout to our volunteers and families who helped make the Bunnings BBQ a sizzling success (see what I did there) last weekend! Not only did we raise valuable funds for our school, but we also strengthened our community connections, which goes a long way to building the brand of our great school!
As I mentioned we have 8 weeks left of the school year ands still, we have many events and activities set and planned for our students and families which I personally am really looking forward to!
- Our Swimming Program begins next week in which our students will be diving into our water safety and swimming skills program. It’s always a highlight of the term and a vital part of our curriculum.
 - We have our Colour Run Fundraiser coming up in a few weeks time so it will be time to get ready for a splash of colour and a whole lot of fun! This event is not only a joyful celebration but also a fantastic way to support our school’s initiatives and programs.
 - NEXT FRIDAY is World Teachers’ Day! Internally, we’ll be taking time to celebrate, thank, and acknowledge our incredible teachers who inspire, guide, and nurture our students every day. Their dedication deserves to be celebrated!
 - We also have...
- Our final Working Bee for the year, led by Skene House, taking place tomorrow!
 - Our Indonesian Day,
 - Our SLA Preparation for Puberty Program,
 - SSG's taking place for select families in week 5,
 - And our 2026 Prep Transition Program,

With ALL OF THAT happening, Learning and Teaching remain our core focus.
While the calendar is bursting with engaging activities, we want to reassure families that our commitment to high-quality teaching and learning remains strong. These final 8weeks are crucial, and our staff are focused on ensuring every student continues to grow, achieve, and finish the year strong.
As always, thank you for your continued support and partnership. Let’s make the rest of the term one to remember!
Kind Regards,
Corrie Barclay
Principal
