From the Principal

As we come to the end of Term 3, there is much to celebrate and, as always, much for which we can be grateful.

Our Mary MacKillop Feast Day was a highlight, particularly seeing our students embrace our theme, Peace Begins with Us, through their generosity and fundraising for Mary MacKillop Today. Our Variety Night, Instrumental Concert and Visual Arts Night showcased the extraordinary creativity and talent of our students, while our many CGSAV sporting events demonstrated their commitment, teamwork and determination.

It was also wonderful to welcome so many fathers, grandfathers and significant male role models to our Male Mentor's Breakfast. These occasions remind us of the importance of community and the many people who support our young women as they grow.

Of course, these events represent only a small part of what has been achieved this term. Across classrooms, sporting fields, stages and in our wider community, our students have continued to challenge themselves, achieve their goals and demonstrate the values of our College. I am incredibly proud of them.

At the same time, we cannot finish the term without acknowledging the devastating flooding and loss experienced by communities across Nepal and Tibet. As a Josephite community, we are called to look beyond ourselves and to respond with compassion when others are in need. We keep those affected in our thoughts and prayers and where possible, contribute to the agencies that are supporting the affected communities.

As we look towards Term 4, I particularly want to wish our Year 12 students well as they prepare for their final assessments and examinations. You have worked hard and have already achieved so much. Approach the coming weeks with confidence, look after yourselves and one another, and enjoy your final weeks at MSJ.

Finally, I extend my sincere thanks to our 2026 Student Leadership Team for the way you have led and served our College this year. Your contribution has been greatly appreciated. To our 2027 Student Leaders; Congratulations! I look forward to seeing you take on this important responsibility and encourage you to lead with courage, humility, kindness and a genuine commitment to serving others.

Thank you to our students, staff and families for all that you have contributed to another wonderful term. I hope the holiday break provides everyone with the opportunity to rest, reconnect and enjoy time with family and friends.

I look forward to welcoming everyone back for our final term of 2026.
