Thank You for a Wonderful Term 3 

As we reach the end of another incredibly busy Term 3, I want to begin by extending a huge thank you to everyone across our Belmont High School community for the work, support and commitment shown throughout the term. 

Our staff continue to go above and beyond to provide opportunities and support for our students, while our families play such an important role in working alongside us. Most importantly, I want to acknowledge our students, who continue to embrace the many opportunities available to them and contribute so positively to our school community. Term 3 has again been filled with learning, performances, sporting achievements, excursions, camps and countless other experiences that make Belmont High School such a vibrant place. 

The end of Term 3 also represents an important milestone for our Year 12 students. For some, it marks the final stages of their secondary schooling as they prepare to move into employment, training or other pathways beyond Belmont High School. We congratulate them on reaching this point and wish them every success with what comes next. 

For those preparing to undertake their final VCE examinations, the upcoming holiday period is an important opportunity to find the right balance between resetting and preparing. Take some time to recharge after a demanding term, but also use the break to establish good routines, begin revision and put yourself in the best possible position for the weeks ahead. 

To all our students, staff and families, thank you for your contribution to another successful term. I hope everyone enjoys a safe and refreshing break, and I look forward to welcoming our community back for Term 4.

  House Music 

  What a way to finish the term! Our House Music Competition is one of those events that is truly unique to Belmont High School and continues to showcase everything that is great about our school community. 

   

  The talent, energy and enthusiasm on display were incredible. Congratulations to every student who got involved, whether performing on stage, helping behind the scenes or supporting their House. A special mention must also go to the amazing crowd, who created an atmosphere that at times felt more like a rock concert than a school event! 

   

  House Music is about much more than the result. It is about participation, House pride, creativity and students having the confidence to get up and have a go in front of their peers. 

   

  At the time of newsletter publication, the judges are still deliberating, so stay tuned for a term 4 announcement of the winning performances. 

   

  Congratulations to everyone involved in making House Music such a fantastic celebration and a brilliant way to bring Term 3 to a close. 

   

  R U OK? Week 

  R U OK? Week was once again a great success, with a range of activities bringing our students and staff together and, most importantly, shining a light on the importance of checking in with those around us.

   

  The Wellbeing team organised a packed schedule of activities including a Year 12 stress management session, lunch time clubs and activities, an extra special breakfast club and the biggest BBQ ever seen! Brilliant work team. 

   

  Another highlight was our annual Staff vs Students Basketball Match, which again drew a fantastic crowd. Unfortunately for the staff, the students have kept their unbeaten run alive! While it pains us to admit it, we are starting to wonder whether a staff victory will ever come, although we will certainly be back to try again next year. 

   

  Behind all the fun of the week sits an important message. Taking the time to ask someone “R U OK?”, genuinely listening to their response and continuing to check in can make a real difference. Thank you to everyone who helped organise and support the activities throughout the week and for continuing to build a community, where looking out for one another matters. 

   

  New Science Building Nearing Completion 

  It is exciting to share that our new Science and Health Centre is nearing completion, with the building expected to be ready for handover following the upcoming school holidays. 

   

  After watching the project take shape throughout the year, we are incredibly excited to soon have our students learning in a modern, state-of-the-art facility designed to enhance our Science and Health programs. The new spaces will provide outstanding opportunities for practical learning, collaboration and engagement. 

   

  We look forward to welcoming students and staff into the new building next term and seeing this fantastic new facility become an important part of learning at Belmont High School.
