Jason and Colin lend Their ‘Hands Across The Water’
Last year, Our Fabric mentioned the 2025 Hands Across The Water bike ride that Colin Gooding (FN Latrobe, VIC) and Jason Partridge (FN Paterson, NSW) had started fundraising for. Well, now they’re both in Thailand, delivering on their promise to ride 500+ kilometres to raise funds for disadvantaged children.
The ride, which started after the Boxing Day 2004 Tsunami, raises funds for 350+ children living in 7 homes and projects across Thailand. Colin and Jason will complete the ride in five days, between 23 February and 3 March. So far, more than $149,000 has been raised.
The children who come to live in a Hands home are there because they have no choice. This is often the result of one of three heartbreaking situations:
They have no known family to care for them
They have a family member who is known to them, but is unable to care for them
They are living in an unsafe environment and have been placed in our care by the police or government
Hands not only provides the life-saving necessities for the kids in its homes; it also supports many families in an outreach program to help keep kids out of Hands homes.
Also participating in this ride are Lisa Grey and Eva Judge from our Alliance Partner, Affordable Staff.
