Media and Marketing

The dos & don'ts of open homes
Two weeks ago, First National reached out to the media – nationally - offering to talk about the subject of open homes. The point, as always, was to provide a platform for First National to highlight its professionalism, but also to humanise the First National brand and its people.
By talking about the things that prospective buyers should and shouldn’t do at open homes, some of the things that can go wrong and how professional agents approach the marketing of our client’s homes, we humanise First National agents and raise brand awareness at the same time.
In excess of 100 minutes of airtime were achieved, across eleven capital city and regional radio stations, generating Advertising Media Equivalency (AVE) worth over $100,000 – at absolutely no cost to members!
Topics canvassed were:
- Punctuality
- Registering on arrival
- Following the agent’s instructions
- Maintaining a respectful demeanour
- Privacy
- Overstaying
- Using the toilet
- Security, personal items and risk of theft
- Insurance
- Food and drink
- Pets
More than one radio host delved into the nuances of the human behaviours that agents experience, with nudity, toddler diarrhoea explosions, odd behaviour, petty crime and privacy matters all getting an airing – in a good humoured way.
First National thanks Rob Rollington (FN Surfers Paradise, QLD) and Mick Dolphin (FN Ranges, VIC) for being available to speak to ABC Brisbane and Radio 3AW Melbourne through this PR campaign.
