Around the College

Harmony Day
Today we celebrate Harmony Day recognising Australia’s diversity and that our country brings together people from all different backgrounds. Today is about inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging for everyone. Students wore a touch of orange today to show their support.
Year 12 House Captain Jayda recently presented to the Year 7 Religious Education class regarding her perceptions of belonging as a young Yorta Yorta woman. This excerpt from her presentation sums up the notion of Harmony Day perfectly:
“I think it's really important that everyone should take pride in their culture and who they are, as it is an important part of your identity. When we honour our own cultures, we also learn to respect and appreciate others. I feel all individuals should feel proud of who they are and what their culture involves and the practices that take part.” Well said Jayda!

A huge congratulations to the students who represented St Anne's College at the recently held Hume Swimming Carnival.
Alick Jarvis had a fantastic day in the pool, placing second in the Men's 18-20 year old age group. The men's 18-20 year old 4 x 50 metre relay also did exceptionally well, placing third in their final.
