Harmony Day

It was wonderful to see a lot of orange around school today to mark Harmony Day. Diversity is such an important aspect of our community and we should be very proud of our heritage and culture.

St Anne's Advisory Council

The College Advisory Council met during the week and the following topics  were our main points of discussion:

  • Parent Carer Survey (see below).
  • Communication: The feedback from our survey identified some areas to work on such as our newsletter and assessment & reporting.
  • School Fee Comparison: A comparison of St Anne's school fees and those of other nearby/similar Catholic schools (including F-12, Primary & Secondary schools) was presented. The consensus was that our school fees are fair and reasonable.

Parent & Carer Survey

Thank you to the families who responded to our Parent/Carer Survey. The feedback has initiated some immediate actions including the following:

* Fundraising for our planned multi purpose sports area.

* Planning for new playgrounds.

* Traffic congestion (see below for new "Kiss & Go" zone)

Other feedback has provided us with long term data which will assist us with our new School Improvement Plan which will be developed later this year.

Please see full survey results below.

Drop off/pick up Zone

Beginning Monday 24 March, we will be trialling a new Kiss & Go zone which will allow parents to pick up students from the school oval (currently where buses park). Please note the following:

  • After school ONLY for Grades F-6.
  • Cars may enter AFTER 3pm.
  • Parents/carers must remain in their cars and stay off the oval.
  • Students will remain behind the fence and will be picked up from the designated pick up point.
  • Cars are restricted to 5km speed limit.

Parents are required to organise their child to meet them at the fence where a staff member will supervise them as they get into cars.

If the trial is deemed successful and the traffic congestion is manageable, we hope to open this for all families to utilise both before and after school.

Learning Conversations

Learning Conversations (Parent/Carer Teacher Interviews) are an essential component of student development, and we encourage all families to participate. Parental engagement significantly influences student achievement, often more than individuals may recognise. Understanding your child's learning goals is a vital aspect of this process.

You can book your student's Learning Conversation through PAM during the following time slots:

Tuesday 25 March: 3:30 - 4:30pm

Wednesday 26 March: 3.30-7pm

NAPLAN

Well done to all Yr 3,5,7 and 9 students for completing NAPLAN testing this week. It is a big week, however they all did extremely well.
