Acting Principal's Report
Deanne Scott
Hello DPW Community,
As we approach the end of the school year, we’d like to remind parents and carers that students are expected to attend school each day.
If your family is planning a holiday before the end of term, please notify the office as soon as possible. This helps us ensure that:
They have an opportunity to say goodbye to their friends.
If your family is moving to a different school next year, please let the office know as soon as possible. This assists us with planning classes and resources for 2026.
Last Thursday, we sent home a letter with the students for our families advising of our Parent Payment Arrangement for 2026. This letter explained DPW’s voluntary financial contribution to assist with the purchasing of your child’s classroom equipment (such as pencils and books), resources for Art, Music and PE as well as to support learning using enhanced digital opportunities such as Mathletics, Reading Eggs and Seesaw. If you did not receive your letter, please check your child’s bag or pop into the office for a copy.

On Tuesday morning we held our Remembrance Day commemorative assembly. Thankfully the rain held off long enough for us to pay our respects and take a moment to remember those who have served, suffered or died in all wars and peacekeeping operations.
It was touching to see so many students laying flowers as a gesture of respect and remembrance. Their participation added a heartfelt and personal element to the ceremony, reflecting the strong sense of community and empathy within our school. I’d like to thank our School Captains, Mr Camilleri and, especially, Mrs McLeod for leading the school with this.
2026 Class Planning
We will be starting to organise grades for next year in the next few weeks. If you have any information that you would like to pass on to me regarding your child, which may be of benefit when placing your child, please communicate this to me in writing by next Thursday (20th November). Place your information in a sealed envelope marked “Principal”.
Please note that this is not about requesting a specific teacher - it is for providing us with information to best place your child for the 2026 school year.
Kindest Regards,

Deanne Scott
