Remembrance Day  2025

A special assembly was held at DPWPS on Tuesday 11th November.

Our students listened attentively to the background information about the significance of Remembrance Day, stood quietly during the ‘Last Post’ and took part in a minute of silence.

Other symbols of respect that were incorporated into this assembly included the ‘The Ode’ being read aloud by Mr Camilleri, the Australian flag being lowered to half-mast on the flagpole and the laying of a wreath of flowers on behalf of our school community.

I would like to acknowledge the students that participated in various aspects of the assembly: the School Captain: Jeslyn 6B and Vice Captains: Elizabeth 6C & Kim 6B as well as a small number of other students from various year levels that brought flowers from home to place at the base of the flagpole.

Thank-you for taking part in this important commemorative assembly.

Remembrance Day merchandise:  The sale of Poppies & wrist bands raised $120.00. Thank-you to everyone who purchased a badge and an extra ‘Thank-you’ to Miss Myall for overseeing the sale of these items at the School Office. The money we raised will be sent directly to the Sunshine R.S.L, who always appreciate our support.

Waste Free Wednesday

At Deer Park West Primary School, every Wednesday the school participates in Waste Free Wednesday. The students are encouraged to bring a lunch box with NO RUBBISH for both recess and lunch. This is a great way to reduce the amount of waste we create in order to make the earth healthier.

Please assist your child/children in doing this by taking items out of their packets before coming to school.

Thank you,
