Year 11 student Grace represented herself, and Mullauna, exceptionally well at the 2024 Heroes International Kyorugi (Fighting) competition. Grace came away with a well-deserved silver medal for her weight division. 2,517 students were in attendance, from countries including India, Kenya, Russia, Hong Kong, Chinese Taipei, Fiji, Mongolia & Thailand. Congratulations Grace!
The Senior Boys Badminton team competed at the Eastern Metropolitan Regional tournament for the 6th consecutive year. They unfortunately lost their first two matches to Glen Waverley and Balwyn, before dismantling Lilydale by winning 6-0. Congratulations to Andy, Earth, Brandon & Ruthvik for their high-quality match play and sportsmanship, which drew praise from opposition coaches and the tournament convener.
On Thursday 25 July, the Intermediate Girls Regional AFL round robin took place at Elgar Park. The severely-undermanned team of Lotte, Perri, Aditi, Taanvi, Vanessa, Kim, Maya
C.M, Jess, Yasemin, Kaitlyn, Talie, Lilli and Maya A, toiled hard all day, despite the wet and soggy conditions.
The Intermediate Mixed Hockey team also competed strongly, and with a strong emphasis on team defence, only 1 goal was conceded by goal-keepers James and Mahla for the entire day’s play!
Lastly, all 5 of Mullauna’s Intermediate Basketball teams competed strongly and with passion and enthusiasm in each of their matches. The boys B team (consisting of Mitch, Haydn, Elijah, Cooper, Mike, Sam and Cody) won all of their games and the boys A team finished in a respectable 3rd place overall.
The Girls A team (consisting of Deanna, Scarlett, Lilli, Lucy, Teiva and Leah) ended the day in 5th position, whilst the B team (Vanessa, Perri, Lotte, Aditi, Kim and Maya) only lost 1 match for the entire day.
