Science At Mullauna
16 August 2024
This week has been filled with fun and exciting lunchtime science activities run by our Science and Technology teachers to celebrate Science Week. We have been delighted by students’ engagement in the activities, with large numbers of students from Year 7 to Year 12 all joining in the fun.
We kicked the week off by extracting DNA from Strawberries with Mr Perree. Students were then delighted by a range of spectacular science demonstrations by Mr Yeap and assisted by Ms O’Connor.
Ice cream making with Mr Di Verere and Mrs Pepper was a huge hit. Mr Brodie and Mr MacLeod launched the new Remote Control Car Club by transforming our Hard Courts into an RC Racing track. Students made slime with our slime experts, Ms You and Ms Ruuska. Mr Lam got students thinking with a lunchtime Science Trivia competition, and Mr Smith wrapped up the week, by launching bottle rockets on the oval.
A huge thank you to our amazing Science and Technology teachers who organised and ran all of our Science Week Activities, and our Laboratory Technicians, Dr Iyer and Thiran, who helped by organising equipment and materials for each activity.
