Principal's Post

Dear Families,

Our Cinema Night was a wonderful success on Friday evening. A sincere thank you to the incredible team who delivered the event so seamlessly. From coordinating the raffle and pre-ordered food, serving meals and popcorn, organising deliveries, securing the movie, setting up the cinema area, managing ticketing, supervising the grounds, and completing both set-up and pack-down, it was truly a whole-team effort led by our Grade 2 families. A special mention to  Megan Madonna and her coordinating team of Vanessa Lim, Antonia Kendrick and Natasha Kiang.  Your hard work, dedication and generosity of time were greatly appreciated.  Thanks also to Emir Bajcic and Lisa Morris who did a lot of behind the scenes work to support the event and Anita Dell'Orso who helped out on the night. The children had a fantastic evening, and thankfully the weather stayed dry, even if it was a little cooler than recent weekends.

Congratulations to the Mathews Family who won the raffle prize and enjoyed their VIP seats and hamper on the night.

Earlier on Friday morning, Father Dispin led our Preps and their Year Six Buddies in a lovely liturgy where we also sang happy birthday to Trish McLaughlin who comes in every Friday morning to set up for our masses. It was wonderful to see so many parents in attendance. Dispin's homily made the connection between the love of Jesus, the love of the shepherd looking for the lost sheep and the love parents show and provide for their children.

NAPLAN

Despite the nationwide interruption to the 2026 NAPLAN assessments, we were able to complete Wednesday's Writing testing successfully on Thursday within the required timeframes. Friday's Reading testing was a lot smoother. Thank you to our students for their flexibility and positive approach, and to our staff for their organisation and support in ensuring the assessments proceeded smoothly despite the unexpected challenges.

The students completed the Language & Conventions test today and will complete the Numeracy test tomorrow.
