It’s been a wonderful start to 2025 for Clancy House! We’ve welcomed many new faces, particularly our Year 7 students and those joining us in Years 8–11. With Term 1 complete, we’re now well into Term 2, focusing on our academic studies and co-curricular activities, including Winter Sport and the upcoming College production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. Clancy students are sharing their gifts and talents across all aspects of College life.
What follows is a series of updates and announcements from our vibrant Clancy community...
Firstly, a word from Jemima and Lilly – Clancy House Captains
2025 has been an incredible year, not only for Clancy, but for all of the Chev Houses, and we are so grateful for the energy and enthusiasm shown so far. We’d especially like to thank everyone who got involved in our Harmony Day initiative (see below for more details)! Your creativity, thoughtfulness, and dedication truly brought the school to life. The doors you designed exceeded all expectations, making the judging process a real challenge... in the best way possible!
Following the success of Harmony Day, we’re feeling more inspired than ever as we look forward to two more big community events: the Athletics Carnival and Sacred Heart Day. We can’t wait to see Clancy students come together again, showcasing our House spirit and passion.
With just a term and a half left at Chev, our goal is simple: to lead Clancy with pride, gratitude, and heart, and to leave behind a legacy that reflects the love we have for Clancy and the broader Chev community. Thank you again to everyone!
House Shield Launch – A New Chapter in Clancy Identity
Earlier this year, each House was invited to help design new House shields, reinforcing the College’s House spirit and identity. In Clancy, we embody quiet strength, where humility meets ferocity, and determination is balanced by compassion. Whether in victory or defeat, the Clancy wheel never stops turning. Fall with heart. Rise with grace. We are Clancy.
We are proud of the new Clancy shield and have loved seeing it embraced around the school. From the Clancy flag hanging in the JFC to the stickers adorning laptops, diaries, and drink bottles, it’s been fantastic to see this symbol of House pride in action. Given how involved students were in the design process, its presence is especially meaningful. More exciting developments are on the way with the House shields, so stay tuned!
Swimming Carnival – Spirit in Action
Although the Swimming Carnival was held earlier this year, we would be remiss not to acknowledge the fantastic participation of Clancy students on the day. Special mention must go to our Year 7 students who led the charge with chants and cheers, proudly waving the Clancy banners and energising the House with their enthusiasm.
Their spirit, courage and pride truly set the tone for the day. It was wonderful to see their eagerness to represent Clancy and contribute to the House atmosphere.
Harmony Door Challenge – Celebrating Diversity
In Term 1, Clancy House proudly hosted the Harmony Door Challenge in celebration of Harmony Day, a nationwide initiative that promotes inclusivity, respect, and belonging for all people, regardless of cultural background.
The theme, "Everyone Belongs," was embraced wholeheartedly. Each Home Room decorated their main classroom door to reflect the idea that everyone belongs in their space. We were amazed by the colour, creativity, and thoughtful symbolism showcased across the school.
From the use of House colours and the newly launched shields to natural elements like leaves and bark, as well as baby photos, and fun teacher features, the range of ideas was outstanding. The initiative not only brightened our corridors but also reminded us of the importance of community, empathy and understanding.
Clancy Student Achievements – Excellence and Passion
Clancy House is proud to celebrate the achievements of students who continue to excel across diverse disciplines. While many of our students shine in dance, music, academics and sports, a few deserve special recognition:
We are incredibly proud of these students and all others who continue to strive for excellence.
Looking Ahead – Clancy in Term 2 and Beyond
As we move through the year, Clancy House continues to grow in strength, spirit, and unity. From vibrant events and creative initiatives to outstanding individual achievements, 2025 has already been a remarkable year for our community.
With so much still ahead, including Sacred Heart Day, the Athletics Carnival and more, we’re excited to keep building momentum. We’re proud of every Clancy student who contributes with heart, purpose, and pride.
Together, we rise. Go Clancy!
