Year 10 Study Skills Day

On Monday 19 May, all Year 10 students participated in a Study Skills Day, designed to support their preparation for the upcoming exam period in Week 7. Throughout the day, students engaged in information sessions led by Leaders of Learning from various subject areas, gaining valuable insights into effective study strategies and exam preparation within a condensed assessment schedule.

The College recognises that exam blocks offer students an important opportunity to build essential academic skills, including:

  • Time management and organisation
  • Effective study note creation
  • Understanding and interpreting assessment notifications

The day also highlighted the extensive academic support available at the College, including access to study spaces and staff through the SILC program, which operates before and after school.

HSC Major Works Day

On Monday 26 May, students enrolled in eight HSC courses that require a Major Work participated in dedicated workshops. These sessions provided valuable opportunities for students to receive feedback and make meaningful progress on their projects.

These workshops were tailored to the unique requirements of each course, including subjects such as History Extension, Design and Technology, English Extension 2, and Industrial Technology. Under the guidance of their teachers, students engaged in targeted activities focused on refining their concepts, developing technical skills, and strengthening their creative or analytical responses. The day also encouraged peer collaboration and provided a structured environment where students could dedicate uninterrupted time to advancing their Major Works.
